University District Patrols

The University District of Detroit has two organizations which contribute to the overall safety and security of the neighborhood:

University District Patrol

Through the financial support of residents, the University District Patrol contracts with a professional security service to provide ongoing patrols of the neighborhood. In addition, the following services are available to paid members during patrol hours:

• A dedicated security number to communicate directly with patrol officers
• Escort service for late night arrivals
• House checks by a patrol officer if you hear a noise or see something suspicious
• Vacation checks of your house several times a day when you are away
• Response to an alarm

 

University District Radio Patrol

A volunteer group of dedicated University District residents who patrol the neighborhood throughout the week keeping an eye on vacant homes, abandoned cars and suspicious activities. The Radio Patrol works closely with the Detroit Police Department. Volunteers are welcome!
